Hawaii’s Fallen Heroes Memorial Ceremony
(Honolulu, Hi) – On May 14, 2023, the Hawai’i Wing Civil Air Patrol Maryknoll Cadet Squadron and the Honolulu Police Explorers participated for a second year in the Hawaii Law Enforcement
Memorial ceremony helping to recognize and pay respect to Hawaii’s fallen law enforcement officers by reading the names of our fallen officers, which agency they served, and end of their watch while laying a rose on their plaques.
This year's event paid respect to seven additional fallen officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty between the late 1800s and early 1900s. This somber ceremony ushered in recognition of those individuals who took an oath to serve and protect the people of Hawai’i. Lt Governor Silva Luke, 
Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, Hawai’i Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation President retired Honolulu Police Department Major Kurt Kendro, and many others addressed attendees in the importance that our law enforcement officers sacrifice on a daily basis for our State. About Civil Air Patrol
Established in 1941, Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and as such is a member of its Total Force. In its auxiliary role, CAP operates a fleet of 555 single-engine aircraft and 2,250 small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) and performs about 90% of all search and rescue operations within the contiguous United States as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center.
